Experience:

Ms. Austin has traveled extensively, living in the Middle East and also in England. These exposures have broadened her knowledge concerning countries, their people, culture, language, politics, history, art and archaeology, etc. This knowledge contributes many times when designing someone's home or office.

While living in Tehran, Iran, 1973-1978, Ms. Austin taught art classes to people from all over the world. She held a solo batik exhibition, which brought her to the attention of the Niavaran Palace School art teacher; and she was invited to give several demonstrations to the co-ed class of 14-year old Princess Farahnaz at the palace school.

She was a founding member and charter docent of Friends of the Museums of Iran, affiliated with the worldwide organization located in Paris. Ms. Austin also served as secretary and later as Chairman. This group studied Iran's culture for four years and wrote a tour script in English for conducting tours through the Ethnological Museum in Tehran. It was later translated in Farsi for local women to tour the city's young school children throughout the museum.

While in England, Ms. Austin joined the London IIDA Chapter, where she continued earning CEU's (Continuing Education Units).
